Tenaya Garrett began her creative journey at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, where she trained in performance and theater arts before working professionally as an actor in Los Angeles and San Francisco. When the 1999 SAG–AFTRA strike paused film and commercial production, Tenaya embraced an unexpected pivot — discovering a talent for strategy and project leadership that would define her next chapter.
She earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and went on to consult for major organizations including Disney and Clorox. Over the following decade, Tenaya built a reputation as both a strategic leader and entrepreneur, founding an integrative wellness center and body care company rooted in holistic health.
In 2009, she co-founded the nonprofit R Strengths, supporting families in transition through the Salvation Army Harbor House. Since then, her work has consistently centered on organizations committed to purpose and positive community impact.
At 925 Dance Collective, Tenaya blends her background in the arts, business strategy, and wellness to oversee program innovation, partnerships, and growth. A lifelong advocate for resilience and healing, she draws on her training in performance coaching, meditation, and life coaching — along with certifications in Mindfulness-Based Pain Relief, hypnotherapy, and cupping therapy — to support dancers’ mental and physical well-being.
Tenaya’s mind-body approach helps students cultivate confidence, focus, and grounded presence — empowering them to perform with both strength and self-awareness

Vivien Terrell is a skilled dancer and dance educator with over eighteen years of dance
performance background and six years of teaching experience. Her educational background ensures an understanding of the complexities of human behavior, community dynamics, and social development— insights that now support her as a dance teacher. Her goal here at Liminal Dance is to inspire critical thinking, challenging movement, empathy, and most importantly growth for every student.
